What is the minimum number of months I can rent?
Generally, there is no minimum length of stay. Rental agreements are month-to-month, so there’s no commitment to stay longer than you need to.
Do I need a reservation or can I just walk in and rent a space?
Yes, customers can just walk in and rent a storage space at our Crown Heights facility, although it is always good to call ahead to make sure the storage unit you need is available. While we have a wide variety of storage unit sizes in our facility, there are times when our most popular sizes fill up. Even if that is the case, we will do our best to find the ideal solution for your storage needs.
Can I rent a truck at your Crown Heights facility?
No, Safeguard Self Storage does provide truck rentals. However, we are running a promotion where we will provide a truck and driver for 2 hours when you rent a unit. The truck company we work with needs a 48-hour notice to make arrangements, so you’ll want to rent your storage space at least 2 days prior to your moving date. If you need to reserve a moving truck for more than 2 hours, make sure to let the company know when you schedule your move so they are prepared and can provide you with a proper estimate.

There are two standard storage unit doors, the swing door and the roll-up door. Most of the smaller units—such as lockers that range from 5′ x 5′ to 5′ x 10’—will have either swing doors or roll-up doors, which both have about a 3-foot opening. For larger units—such as 10′ x 10′, 10′ x 15′, 10′ x 20′, and bigger—they will have roll-up doors that have about an 8-foot opening.

Storage units are not built with electrical outlets, but that doesn’t mean one can’t be added based on your needs. After you pay for installing the outlet, electricity can be provided to your storage space for a small monthly fee.
