No, this Safeguard Self Storage location does not have storage for vehicles, but our nearby location at 1176 Broadway in Hewlett has garage type vehicle storage. The vehicle height cannot exceed 7 feet, as the door openings are approximately 7 feet high. If you have a larger vehicle or are looking for outdoor vehicle storage, our location at 204-02 Jamaica Avenue in Hollis as outdoor parking spaces in a completely enclosed, well lit parking lot. Access to this area is computer controlled, which limits entry to only our customers who have rented spaces in this area.

Can I rent a truck here?

No, Safeguard Self Storage does not do truck rentals, however, some of our locations offer a promotion where we will provide a truck and driver for 2 hours when you rent a unit. The truck company we work with needs 48 hours to make arrangements, so you’ll want to rent your storage space at least 2 days prior to your moving date. And if you need more than 2 hours, when you schedule your move, just let them know so they are prepared and can provide you with an estimate. Please call for details.

There are two standard storage unit doors, the swing door and the roll-up door. Most of the smaller units, such as lockers, 5′ x 5′ and 5′ x 10′ will have either swing doors or roll-up doors, which both have about a 3-foot opening. For the large units, such as 10′ x 10′, 10′ x 15′, 10′ x 20′, and larger, they will have roll-up doors that have about an 8-foot opening.

Do storage units have electrical outlets?

Storage units are not built with electrical outlets, but that doesn’t mean one can’t be added based on your needs. After you pay for installing the outlet, electricity can be provided to your storage space for a small monthly fee.
