Even if that is the case, we will do our best to find the ideal solution to your storage need.
Does this facility have storage for vehicles?
No, this Safeguard Self Storage location does not have storage for vehicles, but our nearby location at 1176 Broadway in Hewlett has garage type vehicle storage. The vehicle height cannot exceed 7-feet, as the door openings are approximately 7-feet high. If you have a larger vehicle or are looking for outdoor vehicle storage, our location at 204-02 Jamaica Avenue in Hollis has outdoor parking spaces in a completely enclosed, well lit parking lot. Access to this area is computer controlled, which limits entry to only our customers who have rented spaces in this area.

How wide are storage unit doors?
There are two standard storage unit doors, the swing door and the roll-up door. Most of the smaller units, such as lockers, 5′ x 5′ and 5′ x 10′ will have either swing doors or roll-up doors, which both have about a 3-foot opening. For the large units, such as 10′ x 10′, 10′ x 15′, 10′ x 20′, and larger, they will have roll-up doors that have about an 8-foot opening.
Do storage units have electrical outlets?
Storage units are not built with electrical outlets, but that doesn’t mean one can’t be added based on your needs. After you pay for installing the outlet, electricity can be provided to your storage space for a small monthly fee. How tall are storage units?
Our walk-in storage spaces are about 8-feet tall, with the door opening about 6.5-feet high. If available, locker storage units are approximately 4-feet tall with the door opening about 2.5 – 3-feet high.
Why is a climate-controlled storage unit important?
All our storage spaces inside the main building are air-conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter. They are designed to store your climate-sensitive household items, such as documents, leather goods (like furniture or clothing), antique wooden objects, family photos, and sensitive electronics. The weather outside will not affect your items, because the temperature inside the building is controlled.
